All Dressed Up

Ok so I bought the perfect little dress for McKenzie on ebay last week and tried waiting very impatiently for its arrival! It is black crushed velvet on top, with an empire waist and the bottom is black with red polka dots and there is black tulle under it that is about 1" longer than the dress, oh yeah and at the bottom of the sleeves is red maribou! Very sweet! As of yesterday it hadn't arrived and I was so scared I wouldn't have it for Christmas Sunday. I had already bought the boys outfits and they were all set, I couldn't have my princess without a new dress! So today while Christmas shopping I picked up a back up dress,I just knew it wasn't gonna get here! But much to my surprise it came! I'M SO HAPPY!! Yes I now have 2 very Christmasy dresses, but that's okay. I'll either let her wear one Sunday and one Christmas day or just take the back up back or something. My motto is "it's better to be safe than sorry!" I'll post pics of the kids soon! :)

Also got some cool toys! I'll post about my great deals later!!!

Pushing Boundaries

This was in an issue of "The Whole Child" it has lots of helpful tips and ideas in it for parents or anyone who works with kids. Check out their sight at www.shirleys-preschool-activities.com.

Don’t feel threatened when your children challenge your authority or push their boundaries. Don’t just condemn them for their bad behavior either but rather use these opportunities to calmly explain to them the reason and purpose behind the discipline and rules for your family.

Take the time to turn the incident into a relationship-building moment. Discipline is not just punishment, but instructing and explaining too - to reach the your child’s heart and win him/her over to self-imposed obedience.

Have You Ever Wondered

Have you ever wondered why? This is a question that I ponder on a daily basis. The variables may change but the question is still the same, WHY.... I find that life with 3 kids causes me to ask this questions all too often. Children are amazing little people that do and say the most extraordinary things. It is fascinating for me to see each child's individual personality shine. Some may shine brighter than others but all children have a shining personality just waiting to be discovered. I hope to use this site to shed some light on some of the peculiarities that make up children, or at least my children and maybe it will help you understand the children in your life and appreciate each child for their uniqueness and differences!
